A very interesting project I found while browsing Facebook groups: the idea is that this girl on the photo - Sheena Matheiken is her name - pledged to wear one dress for one year as an exercise in sustainable fashion. She has 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. Every day she accessorises the dress with different things, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. She started May 2009 and she is doing it to raise funds for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. As for today, she raised $ 10,903. Good cause and cool idea. I am following her on Fasebook and thinking about donating an accessory.
