In Russia March 8 is like a Mother's Day on steroids. Every female creature (including bitches and occasional girl turtles) expects to be pampered, showered with gifts and toasted. But actually it's a day of working women and a celebration of the women's economic, political and social achievements. It suppose to be about equality and human rights, but now it's mostly about flowers and going out. I don't mind. Congrats, girls!
