Things I Love about summer:
- Sudden thunderstorms
- That you can put your shoes on and run out of the door
- City traffic is getting lighter
- Field-grown tomatoes
- The smell of wet pavement
- Pink peonies for my birthday
- Motor boats and yachts
- Barbequing with friends
- Lying on the grass
- Sleeping under the stars – and there are billions of them
Things I hate about summer:
- Skunks
- Heat waves

ReplyDeleteI love the 4th of July, road trips, the beach, visits from my family, going to outdoor plays and concerts.
I hate the fact that in August the humidity makes you feel like you are melting when you walk out the door (I live in Houston) and hurricane season.

ReplyDeleteOh, may I add to the list of likes: falling asleep in a hamock in the shade, whilst listening to the cicadas in the background after spending the day swimming and eating fried squid.
And to the list of don't likes: the cicadas that drive you crazy and won't be quiet for four months straight? (chirping cicadas can get anoying really, really fast!)

Oh, humidity and annoying cicades are totaly going to the hate list! And spiders - I forgot about spiders that jump on your head from the porch roof!
